Role Purpose

The Branch Infrastructure & Technology (BIT) Officer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and security of branch office facilities and IT systems. This role combines hands-on technical support for hardware, software, and network issues with the oversight of office infrastructure, branding, and security measures.

In addition to managing day-to-day operations, you will play a key leadership role within the team — guiding activities, coordinating priorities, and driving service excellence. You will also collaborate closely with the BIT Manager on strategic initiatives, infrastructure projects, and continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the BIT Manager with strategic planning, decision-making, and BIT-related initiatives.
  • Support the development of BIT budgets and manage resource allocation.
  • Lead and coordinate BIT projects, including infrastructure upgrades and new initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee day-to-day BIT operations, ensuring optimal performance of systems and networks.
  • Maintain and update the inventory of IT assets and manage software licensing.
  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
  • Assist end-users with IT issues, including system access and connectivity.
  • Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment (computers, printers, telecom devices).
  • Support data backup, cybersecurity measures, and system updates.
  • Manage IT-related onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring access and security protocols are followed.
  • Identify, scout, and coordinate the setup of new branch locations, including design and installation.
  • Oversee repairs, maintenance, and upgrades of branch facilities, including systems, furniture, equipment, and branding.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of physical security measures (CCTV, access control systems).
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety and emergency protocols.
  • Manage relationships with external service providers (security, contractors, utilities, etc.).
  • Monitor BIT-related expenses and support cost-saving initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT support and/or facilities management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for IT systems, networks, and facility-related issues.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity best practices, and systems maintenance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, operating systems, and hands-on IT troubleshooting (hardware, network, and software).
  • Proven experience in vendor management, IT procurement, and budgeting.
  • Excellent multitasking, time management, and organisational skills, with high attention to detail.
Strong project management capabilities, with a focus on delivering quality outcomes.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with internal teams and external service providers.
  • Knowledge of office safety, security protocols, and emergency response procedures.
