Role Purpose

To ensure the efficient recovery of outstanding accounts while maintaining a high standard of customer service and minimizing non-performing loans (NPLs). The Collections Officer is responsible for executing effective collection strategies, improving recovery rates, and supporting the organization’s overall financial health through proactive account management and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute efficient collection processes to meet departmental targets.
• Monitor and maintain acceptable levels of non-performing loans.
  Initiate and follow up on direct debits; reconcile collection accounts.
• Identify and implement effective solutions for past-due accounts that benefit both the borrower and the organization.
• Analyze collection trends and recommend strategies for improved recovery.
• Provide timely and accurate reports on accounts receivable and collections.
• Maintain excellent client service and uphold the organization’s reputation.
• Suggest and implement improvements to the collections process.
• Manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration, or related field.
• Proven experience with standard collections procedures, ideally in a financial institution.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities.
• High level of integrity and professionalism; ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Familiarity with the banking industry and collections regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Team player with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
