Role Purpose

To support the Finance Manager and broader operations teams by maintaining accurate financial records, managing suspense and clearing accounts, ensuring timely and correct allocations of transactions, and assisting with asset and expense management. This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance across all branches.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve branch and internal finance queries, especially around DDAC payments and clearing account discrepancies.
  • Maintain and reconcile suspense and clearing accounts; recommend adjustments or write-offs according to guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit monthly clearing reports; ensure timely resolution of uncleared items.
  • Analyse daily bank settlement receipts and post to customer accounts or suspense as necessary.
  • Allocate unidentified receipts to suspense accounts and conduct regular cleanups.
  • Support fixed asset processes: verify deliveries, assign asset numbers, update the Fixed Asset Register (FAR), and assist with physical asset audits.
  • Assist branches with expense allocations and resolve misallocations.
  • Summarise and analyse monthly branch expenses and support profitability reporting.
  • Respond to ad-hoc financial data requests and support departmental reporting.
  • Ensure financial practices align with internal systems (e.g., Xero, BIT) and company procedures.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in financial operations or reconciliation roles.
  • Strong reconciliation skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and interpret large volumes of financial data.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and numerical skills.
  • Collaborative team player with a customer service mindset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial systems (e.g., Xero, BIT).
