About the role
The South African entity is recruiting a Finance Manager responsible for a broad range of financial duties. This role is suitable for an experienced and qualified finance professional (CA (SA) preferred) who has strong business acumen. You will partner with stakeholders, lead the finance team, and drive continuous improvement in a high-performing and evolving environment. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and problem-solving skills, is comfortable with new technology, and is motivated to contribute strategically while supporting and developing a collaborative team.
Responsibilities
- Lead, support and act as subject matter expert (SME) for operational and accounting systems and systems adoption.
- Oversee finance functions including but not limited to accounts payable, reporting, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, tax, compliance, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
- Produce quality insights to influence strategy.
- Coordinate external audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Maintain and enhance financial integrity through strong controls and drive continuous improvement processes.
- Engage with funders, regulators, and other external stakeholders.
- Support treasury funding programmes and due diligence processes.
- Monitor financial performance, identify cost efficiencies, and assess business risks.
- Drive and support a high performance culture through collaboration with operational teams, mentor the finance department and supporting senior management.
- Additional duties as assigned by the CFO from time to time.
Requirements
- BCom Honours Degree and SAICA completed, preferably Qualified CA (SA).
- Minimum 4 years post articles experience with proven results as a Finance Manager in commerce.
- Prior retail and financial services experience advantageous, but not mandatory.
- Working knowledge of IFRS and good understanding of Tax principles.
- Knowledge of Oracle Netsuite systems would be advantageous.
- Thorough knowledge of MS Excel / Google sheets.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
- Attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines and produce excellent results.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and change management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
