Unifi Kenya is a subsidiary of Unifi Africa and is recruiting a Finance Operations role to build, enhance,
and sustain a high-performing financial environment that supports both the Finance function and the
broader business. The ideal candidate will spearhead Unifi Kenya’s financial operations, be analytically
adept, and have passion for African business. A healthy spirit of adventure and sense of humour would
be helpful.

Main Purpose
Support the accounting and reporting functions of the business through accurate processing,
maintenance and reconciliation of financial records. The role supports the integrity and completeness of
the General Ledger, supplier and fixed asset records, statutory and regulatory reporting, and the
month-end close process, while working closely with the Financial Accountant, Finance Operations
Controller and Finance Manager.

Responsibilities
• Maintain the Chart of Accounts, departments, cost centres and branch structures in line with
group guidelines, ensuring transactions are correctly allocated.
• Ensure financial transactions and supplier invoices are recorded accurately and on time with
complete supporting documentation and approvals.
• Prepare and support monthly Balance Sheet and control account reconciliations, including
reconciliation to sub-ledgers, and ensure outstanding reconciling items are investigated,
reported and cleared within 30 days.
• Process approved journals, accruals and prepayments required as part of the month-end
close.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, including accurate recording of asset additions, disposals
and movements.
• Ensure supplier accounts are reconciled monthly and support preparation and processing of
payment schedules.
• Prepare and support accurate and timely tax and regulatory returns, including submissions to
the Kenya Revenue Authority and Central Bank of Kenya where applicable, and maintain
relevant statutory and company secretarial records.
• Support internal and external audits by coordinating and providing accurate, complete and
timely documentation, schedules and analysis, including liaison with external auditors as
required.
• Support periodic financial and non-financial reporting, annual budgets and forecasts, and
branch and departmental cost and profitability analysis, including value-added commentary.
• Support development and improvement of financial reporting structures, systems and
processes to strengthen efficiency and controls.
• Respond to finance-related queries and provide ad-hoc accounting and finance support as
required.

Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
● CPA Finalist preferred
● Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role, ideally within a high-growth or
dynamic business environment
● Good Excel and Accounting Systems knowledge
● Demonstrated ability to work independently, identify challenges and proactively develop
effective, innovative solutions
● Excellent communication and leadership abilities with the confidence and adaptability to engage
effectively at all levels of the organization
● Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset and the ability to foster productive
internal and external partnerships
● High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage large volumes of
information in a fast-paced, evolving environment
