About Unifi
Boldly different. Fiercely human. Proudly African.
Unifi is redefining credit in Africa with simple, fast personal loans delivered through online, mobile and
branch channels. We make life easy for our clients across Zambia, Kenya, Uganda, South
Africa and Tanzania. Unifi has conviction in the African continent and its people, and our products
enable our clients to achieve even more. As one of the fastest-growing lenders in Africa, we combine
exceptional client service with the very best tech and data analytics.
Purpose of the role
The Assistant Client Growth reports to the Client Growth Coordinator. You help bring new clients through the door. You’ll build relationships with employers, get Unifi out into the community, find new opportunities and make sure prospects don’t fall through the cracks. This is a hands-on, target-driven role for someone who enjoys people, spots opportunities and takes ownership of getting things done.
Responsibilities
● Own your branch activation targets and consistently work towards achieving them.
● Plan and run weekly branch marketing activities, from community events to on-the-ground promotions.
● Find and visit new employer sites to open new client opportunities.
● Follow up consistently until new employer relationships are active.
● Grow existing employer relationships and keep Unifi top of mind.
● Capture every new prospect in the sales pipeline on the day they are identified.
● Follow up with open prospects quickly and keep them moving through the process.
● Use the branch’s marketing budget wisely and stay within cost-per-prospect guidelines.
● Record site visits and marketing activity in GeoRep before the end of the day.
● Keep the weekly marketing plan up to date so the team knows what is working and where we need to adjust.
● Work closely with the central Marketing team to make sure campaigns land well in the local market.
● Speak up when something isn’t working, try a different approach and share what you learn.
● Step in and help the team where needed. We win together.
Requirements
● A Certificate or Diploma in Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
● 3+ years’ experience in marketing, sales, business development or client-facing work, ideally in financial services or retail.
● Comfortable working towards clear targets and taking ownership of your results.
● Willingness to travel locally for employer meetings and site visits.
● Strong written and spoken communication skills.
● Highly organised to manage a busy weekly activity plan and keep the sales pipeline up to date.
● A client-first mindset and genuine interest in understanding what clients need.
● Confident approaching new people and employers, while always treating people with warmth and dignity.
● Curious and willing to try something different when an approach isn’t working.
● Someone who keeps things simple, follows through and gets things done.
