Purpose of the role

The special projects lead reports to the country manager and act as a strategic yet hands on operational partner.  The role is responsible for driving business scalability, tackling complex operational challenges, streamlining processes and leading cross functional initiatives with a particular focus on key projects undertaken in partnership with the country manager.


Responsibilities 

  • Lead the planning, execution and monitoring of special projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and up to the required standard.
  • Collaborate with management to align projects with company and country objectives, identify deliverables and milestones.
  • Coordinated cross functional teams to ensure seamless delivery and alignment.
  • Proactively identify risks, mitigation strategies; monitor and report on progress to all role players, address challenges and adjust plans as needed.
  • Lead and support roll out of projects related to strategy across all functional areas e.g. but not limited to marketing, activations, retention, technology, product etc.
  • Lead and support projects to optimise collections.
  • Partner with HR on key people related initiatives and support implementation and delivery.
  • Manage and support management on regulatory risks impacting the business.
  • Monitor and report on project progress to all role players

Requirements

  • Honours degree in Engineering or Finance
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to get buy in for change and deliver measurable impact.
  • Humble yet ambitious, with the confidence to make tough decisions quickly and challenge the status quo when it adds value.
  • Exceptional problem solving ability and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and role players on all levels.
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Able to turn an unclear business problem into a structured analytical approach.
  • Curious and willing to experiment, learn and change direction when the information available tells you to.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment where not everything is perfectly structured.
  • Practical and willing to get your hands dirty.
