In addition to making life easy through accessible credit solutions, Unifi’s “Excuse My Loan” campaign is an innovative way to ease clients’ financial stress. The initiative gives Unifi clients the opportunity to have their loans completely forgiven. Since launching in 2019, the competition has excused over 90 loans in Uganda, with more expected to be written off in upcoming rounds.

How it works

The process is simple, yet engaging. Unifi clients with up-to-date payments are randomly selected to receive a surprise call from their favourite community radio DJs during live broadcasts.

They are asked one key question: “How can Unifi make your life easy today?” If the client responds with the correct phrase, namely “Excuse my loan”, their outstanding loan is immediately written off.
